Bail Granted in the Court of First Instance
Appeared in the Court of First Instance on a bail application, the second time I have argued one there myself rather than instructing counsel.
Bail was granted.
I have spent a good part of my career appearing as an advocate for my clients in Magistrate courts while at the same time briefing counsels for matters before CFI. Doing it myself has changed how I prepare. You read the papers differently when you know you will be the one answering the questions from the bench, and you notice much earlier which parts of your case will not survive contact with a judge. I am truly enjoying this part of my professional journey.

I intend to keep taking these hearings myself where that serves the client.
